The IB Continuum

SIS is an IB Continuum school. This means IB programmes are offered throughout a student’s educational pathway from the time they start to graduating the IB Diploma programme. As such, students experience a consistent approach to learning, which has immense benefits, especially in the key transitional phases between Primary School and Middle School, and from Middle School to Upper School. For internationally mobile families, it also means that students can enjoy consistency at any stage of their learning journey.

The IB programmes provide a strong foundation for learning at SIS. They are rich and comprehensive, but also complex. To deliver them well, SIS invests in highly qualified teachers and ongoing professional development.

Our staff also includes curriculum experts, programme coordinators, and specialist support teachers who work together to ensure consistency and high standards across the School. This teamwork allows us to meet the needs of different learners and provide the guidance and support students need to succeed in IB programmes.

Leading our teaching and learning

The SIS Educational Leadership Team (ELT) works across all age groups to support teachers and improve learning experiences for students. Many ELT members are also part of the Senior Leadership Team, which helps connect school leadership decisions directly to what happens in the classroom.
